LLANDUDNO manager Sean Eardley has wasted no time in bolstering his backroom staff with two key appointments.

The newly appointed boss, who made a bombshell move from JD Cymru Premier side Caernarfon Town, has named highly respected coach Guy Handscombe as assistant manager, and Eardley also secured the services of Paul Whitfield as goalkeeper coach.

This is the latest in a series of changes to the Tudno backroom team and board in recent weeks, with the club hoping these landmark changes can get them going in the right direction once again.

Handscombe has a wealth of experience at various clubs across the region, and he has also spent time working with the FAW Trust in recent years.

Eardley, said: “I’m thrilled that Guy is joining the club. I’m looking forward to learning from him and gathering many thoughts and ideas on pushing the vision and project forward.

“He’s a well-respected coach not just in North Wales, but around the Welsh football circuit and when it comes to good cop/bad cop I’m sure we’ll get the balance right.

“He’s meticulous in his preparation and organisation and this will bode well in wanting to improve the standards not just for the first team, but all the way down to the youth teams in the club.”

Whitfield is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeeping coaches anywhere in the country, and the new appointment reunites with Eardley having been teammates during their playing days.

“His experiences and knowledge of domestic Welsh football, and football in general will be invaluable to us moving forward,” added Eardley.

“Having an extensive knowledge of the football club having played for Llandudno will be a massive plus also. With Whitty most recently having been involved at TNS he knows how to set and maintain standards of the highest quality.”
