A former Wrexham fringe player, Smith set the top-flight alight last term to further enhance his reputation as one of the brightest young players anywhere in the country.

He was in exceptional form for the Canaries throughout and played a significant part in them contenting for Europe before the Football Association of Wales curtailed the season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Smith’s relationship with recently departed assistant Sean Eardley was the catalyst behind the player signing a permanent deal with the club last summer, and he was full of praise for the coach in a social media post once his decision to depart for Llandudno was announced.
