RHUDDLAN Town are set to start their preseason training sessions later this week after teams across the country received approval from the Welsh Government to resume activities.

The Football Association of Wales issued guidelines regarding upcoming training for clubs across the region, which represents a significant boost ahead of the new campaign.

Wayne Hughes’ side will be meeting up face-to-face for the first time since their Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division title triumph, with the long-time leaders securing the crown on a points per game basis due to the coronavirus pandemic curtailing the season.

Town have received a major ahead of their return to the field with the news that Keiran Evans has committed his future to the club.

The talented midfielder has been a massive influence on the pitch from a playing perspective in recent years, and he also lent his expertise to the set-up in a coaching role last term.

Hughes, said: “Our fantastic coach Keiran Evans is another player who’s committed to the club on and off the pitch.

“Keiran has had offers from other clubs but he’s keen to stay and work with myself and Tony (Hepton) to develop the club. Keiran has made a huge impact on the team since he’s taken over the training and it is brilliant to have him stay on.”

Another player that has agreed to remain at the club is Ben Smith, who enjoyed a fantastic first campaign in a Town shirt during their title triumph.

Rhuddlan look set to be part of the new Tier 4 league structure being implemented by the FAW next season, with the ambitious club aiming to establish themselves against stronger opposition.
