ZACK Coverley had a debut to remember for Mochdre 2nds in their eight-wicket triumph at Llandudno.

The 12-year-old was thrown into a senior environment for the first time in his fledgling career, and the youngster made his presence felt with an exceptional bowling display that guided his team to a convincing triumph.

Zack, who is the son of Colwyn Bay FC’s director of football Neil Coverley, showed a composure beyond his tender years to claim the wickets of Trevor Taylor (10), Hari Lambe (2), Lloyd Gillatt (1) and Oliver Andrew (1) on his way to outstanding figures of 5-14 from a seven-over spell.

This represents an outstanding achievement from Zack’s first bowling experience in a senior environment, and it left the Lions’ second unit setting a target of 113 all out from their 40 overs in the middle.

The away side managed to reach their run total with minimal fuss, which was down in no small part to a fantastic innings from opener Scott Roberts.

He displayed a tremendous series of shots to end the innings unbeaten on 50, and Scott Brown’s 22 not out ensured the player was also there at the end.
