LLANDUDNO continued their preparations ahead of the new JD Cymru North season with a 3-0 success over Llanrwst United.

There is plenty of expectation of an improved finish when competitive action is permitted to begin at Maesdu Park, which comes as a result of Sean Eardley’s appointment as manager and an exciting squad that has the right blend of youth and experience.

Tudno were given a stern test of their credentials by the Rwsters, who will be competing in the new Ardal Northern League next season and have high hopes of a title challenge under Leighton Griffiths.

Prolific striker Dean Seager was in tremendous form throughout the friendly, providing exceptional work rate and movement at the business end of the pitch to bag a brace that gave his team a commanding cushion.

Greg Little also found the target for the hosts, who managed to keep a clean sheet despite some consistent pressure from United in the closing stages.

There was further good news from the club’s perspective as their U19 side overcame derby rivals Conwy Borough Reserves by a comfortable 6-0 scoreline.

Will Davidson was the start of the show for Tudno, providing a ruthless presence in front of goal to emerge from the friendly with a well-deserved hat-trick.

Lewis Appleton, Sion Jones and Ellis Jones also managed to find the net during an impressive display from the youngsters, who have benefitted from some alternative methods of coaching during the coronavirus restrictions and local lockdowns in recent weeks.
