MELIDEN have made two notable appointments to their backroom staff in the form of Mark Boulton and Jonathan Price.

The NWCFA Tier 4 (East) Premier Division side confirmed the new appointments on Friday, November 27, with both staff members joining the club from JD Cymru North champions Prestatyn Town.

Boulton, who will take on the role of first-team coach, was a tremendous part of the Seasiders’ success under Neil Gibson over the years but decided to end his association with the club after the manager resigned from his post.

This represents a significant coup for the Miners, with Boulton a well-respected figure within the North Wales domestic football scene and brings a wealth of experience to the position.

Price will come on board as he club’s physio after also spending a considerable period at Town under Gibson.

It is the latest in a series of exciting developments at the club in recent months, which saw Meliden secured the necessary criteria implemented by the Football Association of Wales to secure Tier 4 status whenever the new season is given the green light by the relative authorities.

Manager Gareth Jones has formed a competitive squad that looks more than capable of holding their own against some high-profile opposition, who will be led by club captain Ashley New.
