ANOTHER prominent member of Colwyn Bay’s squad from last season has made a return.

The Seagulls’ are busy preparing themselves for the impending start of the JD Cymru North campaign, although just when this will be given the green light by the Welsh Government and Football Association of Wales is unclear given the current COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.

Manager Craig Hogg and director of football Neil Coverley have been extremely active during the January window to re-strengthen their squad, which now includes the signing of prolific striker Mitch Bryant.

The former Manchester United Academy prospect netted 14 goals in 26 games in Bay colours last season before moving on to Bury AFC and City of Liverpool for brief spells.

With the Northern Premier League now facing the prospect of a null and void season due to the coronavirus pandemic, Bryant has opted for another stint at the Four Crosses Arena and potentially aid the club with promotion to the top-flight.

Hogg, said: “I am sure everyone is as pleased as I am with the announcement that Mitch is returning to the football club.

"Mitch was brilliant for us last year. He was our top scorer, assisted in many other goals and won my manager's Player of the Season.

"There were many instances during the last campaign where his performances in a Bay shirt were exceptional.

"I know how much he is looking forward to returning to the Bay and replicating that form for us again.

"For the moment we continue to plan that our season will be starting at some point - until we are told otherwise."

This news follows on from the likes of Tom McCready and Alex Downes also returning from Runcorn Linnets, giving Hogg plenty of useful options at his disposal in the even of the season actually beginning sooner rather than later.
