A POLITICIAN who took on Conwy Half Marathon for St Kentigern Hospice completed the challenge in two hours and 11 minutes.

Gareth Davies, MS for Vale of Clwyd, took on the 13.1 miles race - which starts and finishes at Conwy Quay - on Sunday, November 19.

Mr Davies raised £345 for the St Asaph hospice. He will leave his GoFundMe page open in the hope of collecting further funds.

Me Davies said: "It was atrocious weather conditions with high winds and there was heavy rain all morning but I was delighted to complete the Conwy Half Marathon in a respectable time given the harsh weather conditions on the day which were particularly acute at the top of the Great Orme.

"I kept going and digging in to get over the line.
