THERE was also a crucial spell of action towards the foot of the Cymru North rankings.

Gresford Athletic played host to Ruthin Town in a battle of two sides in the bottom-three, with Colin Caton’s visitors taking the points with their 2-1 triumph.

Athletic, who had won two of their previous three league matches, could not have wished for a better start and Tyler Berry had them in the lead after 11 minutes.

Luka Graham levelled things up after half-an-hour, while Ethan Davies’ strike three minutes later turned out to be the winner.

Basement side Penrhyncoch lost out 3-1 at Holyhead Hotspur, who won it via Connor Owen, Cory Williams and Sam Jones. Rhydian Davies had given Penrhyncoch an early lead.

Caersws and Bangor City 1876 played out a 1-1 draw. Sam Parry looked to have won it for Bangor with his 85th minute strike, only for Ashley Harries to level up the score soon afterwards.

In the most thrilling match-up, Denbigh Town triumphed 4-3 at Llanuwchllyn. Ffranc Vaughan-Evans, Tom Kelly (2) and Findlay Starkey-Jones won it for Eddie Maurice-Jones’ visitors, as James Davies, Ilan ap Gareth and Gwydion Ifan hit back.
