A FATHER, cancer survivor and property entrepreneur from Rhos-on-Sea who began a year of “Senseless” challenges last March in aid of people with complex disabilities has decided to continue his adventure beyond 12 months.

Former Channel 4 Secret Millionaire Rob Lloyd started with a gruelling marathon, then took the plunge with skydiving, SAS training, scaling the Three Peaks and abseiling down the UK’s tallest sculpture.

He also completed a six-hour “Tour de Wales”, and a 500-mile cycling and running tour of Wales’ Sense charity shops.

Although his extreme challenges were due to end this month, Rob has decided to further his adventures while raising money for Sense, a charity supporting deaf/blind children and adults who have complex needs.

Rob has been a major supporter of the charity since running the London marathon for Sense in April 2019, helping to set up a residential centre in Denbigh.

So far, through his extreme challenges, Rob has raised more than £85,000, and is aiming to reach £100,000.

Rob’s most recent challenges include the SAS Fan Dance - a 24km march in the Brecon Beacons that sees participants traverse Pen y Fan before taking on the gruelling Jacob’s Ladder.

To make things even more difficult, the Fan Dance must be completed in less than four hours for SAS recruits.

Rob said he is: "Feeling exhausted, tired and stiff and aching all over, especially after the Fan Dance, but I’m glad I got through it.”

Earlier this month, Rob also completed a wing walk at RFC Rendcomb Airfield in Cirencester, which saw him standing strapped onto an aeroplane's wings while it took on the skies.

His fundraising efforts have directly helped Sense open a further 20 stores.

Rob has used his knowledge as a property developer to help the charity source new locations for its shops, and his fundraising efforts have even given him a “Points of Light” award, a UK Government honour that recognises outstanding individual volunteers.

He added: “Sense is an incredible charity with incredible staff, both on the operational side caring for families, and on the retail side by helping the community and fundraising.

“All of the team at Sense work so hard to make a difference to the lives of the people they help, and I couldn’t be more proud to be raising vital funds for them”.
