THE care leavers team at Conwy County Borough Council are organising a week of themed events to mark National Care Leavers’ Week.

Taking place from 24 to 28 October, it is the world’s biggest celebration of children and young people with care experience.

Young people are invited to share their stories, talents and interests, and there will be an opportunity to meet the team and access useful information.

Cllr Liz Roberts, Conwy’s cabinet member for children, families and safeguarding, said: “We want the very best for our young people and we know that the change from being a looked after child to care leaver is significant.

“It’s our responsibility to make sure that these young people have the support, care and protection they need.

“We’re inviting Conwy care leavers, past and present, to help and to take part in the week’s activities.

“It’ll be an opportunity to be inspired by stories from other young care leavers; pick up practical tips on various topics; take part in activities; and to catch up with personal advisors.”
