NEW drone images have captured the progress being made on the construction of Colwyn Bay FC’s new stand.

Construction work at the 4 Crosses Construction Arena (Llanelian Road) began in early December, and the ground will boast a 1,000-seater stand once the work is completed.

Weather permitting, it is expected to take between 16 and 18 weeks to complete the project, which has already seen the two existing covered terraced stands on the bank side of the ground dismantled.

Work on the car parking area at the rear of the ground, which will have space for up to 200 vehicles, is also underway. This aims to ease traffic congestion on matchdays.

New drone images, captured by photographer Liam Daly, show the progress being made at the stadium with new steelwork erected.

Previously, club chairman Neil Coverley said: “This development will help promote and progress not only the local football club but the local area, nationally and internationally, helping boost the economy and employment.

“It encourages growth and progression and would be a significant addition to the community and one of which we would all benefit from.

The stadium was built in 1984 and currently can hold up to 3,000 people, with covered seating for 500 supporters - the new stand will take the stadium's seating capacity to 1,850.

The Seagulls currently sit unbeaten atop the JD Cymru North table, with 17 wins and a draw from their 18 games so far this season.
