A WOMAN saved the life of a bumblebee in Rhos-on-Sea after noticing it “wasn’t really moving”.

Karrie Williams was walking along her usual route on Tuesday afternoon (August 29) when she spotted a bumblebee on the ground, alive but barely moving.

Having learnt more about bees from her daughter and TikTok, Karrie knew she had to act quickly.

“He was on my path in the garden I walk by, and normally a bee flies off when a human walks by,” Karrie told the Pioneer.

“I noticed that he wasn’t really moving and his wings were flat.”

Karrie remembered that bees that hardly move can be helped by sugar water, and soon worked on restoring its health.

Karrie continued: “I got him some water with two spoons of sugar in, put some meat, and I could see him sipping it up.

“As soon as it had what it needed it tried to fly, but couldn’t quite fly.

“It had some more and flew away - I stayed with it until it did as a cat was close by.”
