IT'S been another busy week in this part of the North Wales coast, with our team bringing you all the latest news.

1. New Rhos-on-Sea kiosks could be approved this week

The most read story this week was the news that seaside kiosks for Rhos-on-Sea could be given the green light at a  planning committee at Bodlondeb.

Conwy has applied to its own planning department, seeking permission for the identical kiosks on the West Promenade.

Council officers have advised the committee they are ‘minded to grant’ conditional approval for the proposals as part of phase 2B of the Colwyn Bay flood defence and public realm improvements.

2. More than £1,500 raised for family of woman who died in Llandudno fire

A fundraiser page was created to support the family of a woman who died following a fire at her home in Llandudno last week.

Yvonne Williams died aged 64 after an incident at her home on Kings Road.

Following her death, Cllr Mandy Hawkins, who represents Gogarth Mostyn ward on Conwy County Borough Council, set up a JustGiving page to assist Yvonne’s loved ones with funeral costs and living expenses.

3. Trust at I'm A Celeb castle responds to 'most at risk' list

The trust behind a gothic ruin have responded after Gwrych Castle was listed as one of Wales' "most at-risk" historical buildings.

Gwrych Castle, a Grade I listed building near Abergele, hosted ITV's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2020 and 2021.

Last year, the castle was awarded a huge £2.2m cash injection from the National Heritage Memorial Fund to save the build from "imminent collapse". The trust is working to reinstate the roof on the main building; the castle has been a "roofless ruin" for 30 years. Floors are also being installed.

4. Snooker star spotted at Llandudno hotel with Welsh Open in town!

A Wales sports star was been spotted in Llandudno this week as the town hosted snooker's Welsh Open.

Two-time Snooker World Championship runner-up Matthew Stevens checked in at the New Alexandra Hotel, on Clonmel Street, following his first-round loss to Ricky Walden.

5. Llandudno makeup artist is Come Dine With Me winner

We caught up with a man from Llandudno who won the £1,000 prize after he took first place on last week’s series of Channel 4’s Come Dine With Me.

Makeup artist Piers Braybrooke saw off competition from fellow hosts Saffron (Rhos-on-Sea), Jake (Conwy), Joey (Deganwy) and Laura (Denbigh) to be crowned the winner of the show.
