The inauguration of the new Mayor of Conwy has seen Cllr Janette Hughes sworn in for 2024/25.
Cllr Hughes, who served as Deputy Mayor for the last 12 months, was officially appointed to the role in ceremony at the Guildhall, where she also adopted the title of Constable of the Castle. She takes over the role from Cllr Evie Roberts.
Head of Year Six at Ysgol Aberconwy, Cllr Hughes said she was honoured by the appointment, before underlining her commitment to promoting inclusivity, prosperity and well-being in the community.

As Mayor she will represent the town at events, preside over council meetings and champion community initiatives.

"Together, let us embrace the opportunities that lie ahead and work tirelessly to make our communities a place we can all be proud of.”
