Taste Test: A cake and a cuppa at Taylor's Café in Llandudno

But one café drew my attention earlier this week - Taylor's Café on Lloyd Street.

Parked across the road from Emmanuel Church, this charming café bar certainly answered all my prayers on what was a warm day in the sun (at last!).

Owned by husband and wife Darren and Emma Cooper, who also own The Queen Victoria pub, it was taken on by the couple 18 months ago.

Darren said they "love its potential", and it's hard to disagree, with the café being a hub of the community.

My cake and coffee at Taylor's Cafe. (Image: NQ) When I showed up, several customers were enjoying a fry-up breakfast and catchup over drinks - with staff invested in the lives of customers.

I only wanted a light bite, and was immediately presented with mouth-watering cakes and treats - I couldn't resist and opted for the chocolate and marmalade marble cake (£2.68) with a cappuccino (£2.82) on the side.

I have rarely been happier with myself, and tried my best not to inhale the slice in record time.

The cake was spongey, very orangey and not too rich, topped with a creamy chocolate coating and a wedge of Terry's chocolate orange - what more can you ask for?

My cappuccino, which was huge, perfectly complimented the cake and set me up nicely for the rest of the day.

Taylor's Cafe. (Image: NQ) Taylor's Café is dog-friendly, like the owners' other businesses, and you can even order from a choice of ice cold beers.

Serving a range of sandwiches, breakfast options, hot and cold drinks and classic meals, it has a little bit of everything.

The café bar extends to an upper level, and with (a hopefully sun-filled) summer on the horizon, I have a feeling its outside seating could be pretty popular.

Regardless of the time of the year, it's safe to say Taylor's Café is worth the visit.
