Amgueddfa Llandudno Museum receives nearly £20k grant

A museum in Llandudno is set to continue its' community engagement work following a nearly £20,000 boost in funding.

Amgueddfa Llandudno Museum and Gallery has received a £19,685 grant from the People’s Postcode Lottery to support its community programmes.

The museum, run by a charitable trust, relies on fundraising to operate as a community resource and hub.

Mary Oliver, chairman of the trustees, said: "Thanks to the incredible support from players of the People’s Postcode Lottery, this funding will help us continue doing what we love, bringing history to life and creating meaningful experiences for our community.

"This generous grant means we can carry on offering a wide range of vibrant and inclusive activities."

The museum hosts gallery talks on a range of subjects, as well as guided history and heritage walks.

It also welcomes community groups, offers volunteering opportunities for all ages, educational support for schools and colleges, and work placements for young people.

Mrs Oliver added: "We believe the museum plays an important role in enhancing community well-being and that this has been recognised by the People’s Postcode Lottery."

Amgueddfa Llandudno Museum and Gallery is located at 19-21 Gloddaeth Street.

It is open from 10am to 4pm, Tuesday to Saturday, inclusive.
