COLWYN Bay FC will be presented with the JD Cymru North trophy following Saturday (April 15)’s final league game of the season against Llandudno at the 4 Crosses Construction Arena.

Saturday’s big derby game will bring the curtain down on a memorable league campaign for Steve Evans’ title-winning side.

The Seagulls have scored 100 league goals this season and lost only once during the campaign, which included a 25-match winning run.

Having also secured a Tier One licence, Bay will take their place in the Cymru Premier next season, where they will face teams including The New Saints, Connah’s Quay Nomads, Bala Town and Barry Town.

The derby against Llandudno is an “all-ticket” match, and there will be no cash turnstiles on the day as the club said there had been “huge” interest in the game.

More than 1,500 fans saw the reverse fixture between the sides at the OPS Wind Arena on the opening weekend of the season last July when Steff Edwards’ stoppage time goal earned the Bay a 2-2 draw.

The Bay did not lose again in the league until last month, when Holywell Town ended their 25-match winning run with a 3-1 win in front of more than 1,300 at the 4 Crosses Construction Arena.

Llandudno are guaranteed a third place finish and Sean Eardley’s side come into Saturday’s game on the back of a 12-game unbeaten run.

They finally ended Holywell’s title hopes on Good Friday with a 2-1 away win courtesy of Marc Williams’ late goal but were held to a 2-2 by Penrhyncoch on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Bay’s Welsh Blood Service League Cup Northern final against Porthmadog will be played at Bala Town’s Maes Tegid.

The fixture, originally set to be hosted at The Oval in Caernarfon, maintains the previously announced kick-off time of 2.30pm on Saturday, April 22.

The winners will face Cymru South champions Barry Town United in the Welsh Blood Service League Cup national final, the date of which has yet to be confirmed.
