A DEMENTIA information day will be held in Colwyn Bay next month.
The event, at Coed Pella, Conway Road on May 17 (10am–2.30pm), will coincide with Dementia Action Week, organised by the Alzheimer’s Society, from May 15-21.
To support the campaign, a free drop-in event has been organised for people living with dementia, their carers, professionals, and anyone else interested in finding out more about dementia and the services available in Conwy.

There will be a number of services and organisations offering advice and support, including: Conwy Telecare; Conwy Community Wellbeing Team; North Wales Police; Conwy Libraries; Welfare Rights; Occupational Therapy; North Wales Dementia Centre; Llys Elian; and the Alzheimer’s Society.
Cllr Mandy Hawkins, Age Friendly Champion at Conwy County Borough Council, said: “We’re joining businesses and organisations across the UK by supporting the national Dementia Action Week.
“It’s estimated that around 2,400 people are living with dementia in Conwy, and the number is predicted to increase.
“It’s important that we continue to adapt to changes in population, age differences and need – to make Conwy better for people with dementia.
“I encourage everyone to come along and find out more at the Dementia Information Day on May 17.”
